HYGIENE OF PETS

Many parents do not allow the child to have a pet, arguing that they can get a number of diseases. But with proper care and regular hygiene measures, living together is possible. It is also worthwhile to understand that you should not buy an animal from the first person you meet, as there is a risk of the presence of certain diseases. It is better to overpay and buy from the breeder with all vaccinations, examinations and documents.

Regular hygiene measures support the physiological processes in the pet’s body, thereby improving its health, mood and behavior. Daily mandatory procedures include the care of teeth, eyes, ears, paws, claws and hair.
Wool hygiene

Care for the hair of cats and dogs may depend on its length, season, condition of the animals.
The quality of the coat can be deteriorated by many factors, except for molting, such as unbalanced nutrition, hormonal imbalance, overheating, and more.
As you know, cats themselves can take care of their hair, but the owner’s help is needed. A pet with short hair should be combed with a special brush once a week, with a longer and thicker coat it is worth performing this procedure regularly. Keep your coat clean and shiny with a swim. This procedure should be carried out once every three months, and if the pet is dirty, use a dry shampoo that mimics a dust bath.
When caring for dog hair, it is worth performing some procedures; combing, bathing, pest control. It is necessary to bathe a four-legged friend once every two months using special means. These funds can be purchased at any veterinary pharmacy, where they will show and tell you all about them. After each walk, the dog is advised to wash his paws and stomach, without soap.
Claw care

In animals that visit the street, the claws grind naturally. Pets have to perform this procedure weekly, using special tweezers. It is better to teach four-legged friends from a young age to these actions. An ideal option would be to cut your nails once a week. It is advisable to cut at least once a month, since with the growth of the claw, the vessel approaches its end and there is a risk of bleeding during the procedure. If you are at a loss to conduct this event, you can contact the veterinarian where they can be done safely and efficiently for a fee. Or you can ask the veterinarian to show how to properly cut the claws of your pet.
Also, do not forget to check after each walk for cuts and wounds, in which case you need to treat with petroleum jelly.
Oral hygiene

Each animal needs a regular oral cleaning procedure. It must be carried out every two days with a toothbrush and toothpaste for animals. Why is this procedure so important? It removes plaque and accumulated bacteria, which can subsequently provoke diseases in the mouth, such as periodontitis. Pets also have a toothache, but they can’t tell the owner about it. Only an attentive owner will notice that his pet refuses food, or it is difficult for him to chew, emits bad breath. These causes indicate tooth pain. Therefore, to avoid this, it is worth visiting a veterinary clinic twice a year. Tartar is recommended to be removed as it appears by ultrasound.
Ear hygiene

Using special lotions for your ears, you need to clean your ears. Ideally, there should be no pollution or raids. If the pet has pollution in the ears and itching, it is necessary to consult a specialist.
Eye hygiene

If you find in your four-legged friend such changes as:
dry crusts in the inner corner of the eyes;
excessive secretion of tears;
swollen and sticky eyelids;
These signs may indicate a violation of the eye, which is desirable to notice in time and seek the advice of a veterinarian.
For daily eye treatment or for injuries, sodium chloride is suitable. This saline solution can be used as many times as necessary without causing harm to your animal. The procedure can be performed once a day, at night, or three times after walking. A cotton pad moistened with a solution is carried out from the outer corner of the eye to the inner one, and so on several times.
In addition, annual vaccination is necessary. Every few months, give the four-legged pet preparations for internal parasites and treat them with special agents for external parasites.
So, observing the simple rules for caring for a pet, you provide him with good health and good mood, as well as take care of your loved ones, preventing them from possible diseases.
